Telecommunications giant, MTN’s mast located at Secretariat Road, Ibeno, 100m from Exxon Mobil (QIT) in Eket, Akwa Ibom caught fire, Tuesday morning. The power generating set and other equipment were said to be destroyed in the inferno.
The cause of the fire is yet unknown.
Firemen battled the fire.
It is not clear if the incident is connected with the Federal Government’s announcement that transmitters for Radio Biafra through with hate messages have been broadcast in recent months were installed on MTN masts.
