You Won’t Believe Why This Cobbler And His Girlfriend Were Arraigned In Court

The Nigerian police has arraigned a 32 year old cobbler, Ganiu Anjorin and a salesgirl at a supermarket on Dosunmu street in Lagos for stealing N11.4 million, Punch reports.
The money which belonged to a businesswoman Omobola Akintoye, the police alleged was stolen by Suarau who connived with the cobbler – her boyfriend – to perpetrate the act.
The police said, Sarau who worked at the supermarket got N400,000 from the money while her boyfriend collected N11 million.

The act the police said was committed between February and July 2016.
The accused persons were arraigned before an Igbosere Magistrate Court on Thursday, October 6, on a three count charge bordering on stealing.
Counsel to the police, Jimoh Joseph told the court that the crime committed by the duo contravened Sections 285 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos state, 2011.
One of the charges read: “That you, Ganiu Anjorin, between February and July, 2016, at 47 Dosunmu Street, Lagos Island, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did steal the sum of N11 million, property of one Omobola Akintoye.”
While the defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges, the chief magistrate of the court, A. O Soadoye granted the bail of N1 million each.
The court also ruled that the defendants produce two sureties each in like sum.
The case was further adjourned to Wednesday, November 9, for commencement of trial.
Meanwhile, some unknown gunmen on Thursday, October 6, invaded a school in Lagos kidnapping students and officials of the school.
Following the incident, the House of Representatives also called on all security agencies in the country to intensify its rescue efforts on those kidnapped.
