Ex-Militant Leaders beg Avengers and Others to stop further attacks

Ex-Militant leader, Mr. Smart Amola (aka) ‘General’ Gentle, yesterday, appealed to the Niger Delta Avengers to stop further attacks on oil installations, insisting that the attacks have negative effects on the economy of the region and the country.
Also, Niger Delta Sustainable Development Advocacy, NDSDA, has called on Ijaw elders and leaders of thought not to allow the Avengers and other militants to use the bombing of oil and gas installations in the region to continuously hold government and international oil companies to ransom.

NDSDA, in a statement by Greg Afoegba, however, commended the leaders for their recent intervention, urging militants to embrace dialogue and cease hostilities.
It said: “Niger Delta region cannot be taken out of Nigeria. As a nation, we have a government in place from the presidency, national and states Assemblies, judiciary, state and local governments governed by the 1999 constitution.
