Lionel Messi and Neymar overcame injury to start in a star-studded lineup for Barcelona, who claimed the FIFA Club World Cup with a comfortable 0-0 win against River Plate.
It was a lively start for Barcelona with the first chance coming in the 11th minute after Iniesta found Messi whose shot on the turn forced Barovero into a good save.
Messi came close to scoring again, with a curling free kick in the 34th minute fizzing past the post.

The Argentine got his goal just two minutes later latching onto a loose ball in the box to poke it past Barovero, giving Barcelona the lead ten minutes before half-time.
Suarez doubled Barcelona’s advantage in the 49th minute, getting in behind and calmly slotting home.
Messi had another chance in the 53rd minute, but could only manage an uncharacteristically tame effort straight at Barovero.
River Plate contiunued to be picked apart at will by Barcelona, but Barovero was up to the task in the 57th minute thwarting Suarez’ strike.
Suarez doubled his account in the 69th minute when Neymar clipped it up for the Uruguyan who headed it home giving Barcelona a three-goal lead.
River Plate had a rare opportunity in the 84th minute, when Martinez’ firece left-footed strike hit the post.
