Man City drop Iheanacho from Champions League team list

Premier League big spenders Manchester City have submitted their list of 21 players to prosecute this season’s UEFA Champions League group stage, but Nigerian youngster Kelechi Iheanacho is missing from that list..
The 18-year-old was promoted to into City’s first team this season following some superlative showing in pre-season.
He made his Premier League debut for the club only last week in a 2-0 home win over Watford as he came in for Raheem Sterling in the final minutes of the game.
Iheanacho’s omission from the list has been put down to the fact that the Manchester City already includes the maximum 17 foreign players.
The Citizens can supplement their squad from a ‘B’ list of Under 21 players but Iheanacho, who joined the club last year, does not qualify for that category until he has been at the club two years.
